It’s probably time that I give credit to Liz for making sure this tumblr keeps getting updated with good photos as she has taken to photographing a lot of the things you see posted. Including this one. Either it’s a self-timer situation or someone was with her and Kaia during their Nora Ephron-a-thon while I was working all night.

Speaking of, if you need us, Liz and I are now waiting tables at Loca Luna pretty much Monday-Friday lunch. And then at night we’re working at the Flying Saucer.

The drive from New Orleans to Little Rock is a whole lot prettier when these two ladies can be found just out the window.

Holy cow, if you’ve never participated in the Happy Thursday NOLA Social Ride, you have no idea what you’re missing. London and Liz and I biked with 54 folks all over the CBD tonight and it was awesome.

Stoked to have London in town. And judging by the fist pump she has going in this photo, I think she’s excited to be watching Glen David Andrews at d.b.a. with Liz, Rich and me.

Here’s wishing our mothers, and all mothers, a Happy Mother’s Day from Pirate’s Alley.

WEIRD SIDENOTE: Liz still calls her mom “Mommy.” (And so does Rich.)

We took Kaia to the vet a few weeks ago because of a stomach issue. She constantly needed to poop, and she was always hungry—so hungry that she started trying to eat canned goods and toothpaste when we left her alone in the apartment. We found out a week or so later that Kaia’s pancreas has given out, preventing her from breaking down her food and getting the nutrients that she needs. I’ve kind of been a basketcase about the whole situation.

Now we have to mash up little pills to put in Kaia’s special broken-down (and expensive) food. I’m not so sure she likes having to wait while we mash those pills up, but at least she’s not trying to eat the Colgate now.

Liz is scaling our furniture to get the best angle for her photo submission to my friend Micheal’s photo blog. He asks people to take photos of whatever he assigns each week and then he posts everyone’s photos with location as a way to create a sort of map. It’s only the second week. Participate.

SIDENOTE: Liz and I are subletting our apartment for the summer. If you’re interested, send me a message at gchoate17(at)gmail dot com. The place can be yours from May 21 to August 18. We’ll pack up most of our stuff, but our bed, desk, etc. will be yours to enjoy during your time here in this lovely French Quarter studio apartment. The rent is $775/month, but we can negotiate with you if need be. Also, have you seen the private balcony?

Like the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles with Splinter, I present the Seidita siblings with their mother (hidden): Tommy, Elizabeth, Jonathan, Matthew. And like good foot soldiers vanishing at Shredder’s request, we are heading back to New Orleans tomorrow…

This whole TMNT thing really didn’t play out as well as I’d hoped. Not sure what I was trying to do there.

This is what Liz and I look like brushing our teeth at her mom’s house.

Liz’s favorite part about her life is when I show up at her work, pull out my camera and just point-blank her while she goes about her business.

SIDENOTE: If you’re in New Orleans and have nothing better to do, I’ll be reading a nonfiction essay I wrote as part of UNO’s unofficial reading series at Handsome Willy’s in the CBD Thursday at 8.30pm. They have fairly cheap beer and also tacos for $1.
